Scott Machado
| PG | Iona |
6’1” | 180 lbs | 6/8/90 |
The quick and athletic Iona point guard can shoot up draft boards with strong workouts in a weak point guard class. Scott Machado was a very productive point guard while also carrying very impressive physical tools.
The first thing that stands out about Machado on offense is his pure point guard skills. He is a very good passer and has good vision for a point guard. He averaged 9.9 assist per game and shows the ability to lead a team. He is at his best when in transition but shows a good stroke and the ability to get to the rim in a half-court setting.
Defensively Machado looks like he’ll be a solid defender but it will never be his strong suit. Machado has a solid frame with good athletic ability but he will need to develop his defensive fundamentals. He is also a good rebounder for a point guard and gets his fair share of steals.
Machado did a good job of elevating his stock despite playing at a smaller school. Machado raised his level of play and efficiency his senior season and has now put him in a good position to be drafted.
