Sullinger is physical throw back at power forward. Few players in recent memory have been this polished and willing to go down and the block and score. Offensively, he has even displayed the ability to face the basket. A strong lower body allows Sullinger to hold his position on both ends and he appears to be a player physically ready to step in and contribute in the NBA from Day 1. Sullinger runs into problems with longer and more athletic defenders.
On the defensive end Sullinger will crash the boards, box out, and body up. While he is a bit undersized, his wingspan makes up for any concerns. Sullinger has not show great quickness to defend on pick and rolls.
The son of a high school coach and younger brother to OSU alums, Sullinger has savvy and smarts. To succeed at the next level Sullinger needs to prove he can handle longer and more athletic opponents. Fortunately for Sullinger, Kevin Love and Paul Millsap have made the league friendlier towards undersized and less athletic power forwards.
